The End of the Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is threatened by the tourism, water quality and climate change.

They say The Great Barrier Reef will die soon, and the species with it. The biggest threat is the high temperature. If the the temperature is too high for too long it can cause coral bleaching and death on a worldwide scale.

The tourism is also a big issue, because the people ruins the corals. The water quality is also a problem in The Great barrier reef.

"Sediments and nutrients, fertilisers, pesticides, toxic chemicals, sewage, rubbish, detergents, heavy metals and oil run into rivers and out to the Great Barrier Reef lagoon, where they can threaten plants and animals on the Reef. Land users and governments are now working together to improve the quality of water flowing onto the Great Barrier Reef as part of the Reef Water Quality Protection Plan."

My opinion:
I don't quite know what I think about this. It's something that doesn't effect me personally. But big touristatraction will gett lost in a couple of dusin years. It's bad but its not a theme i car so much about.
